Summary Charge Off is an unfortunate inevitability of lending. Our current process is dependent on manual file maintenance and reporting, and consumes an inordinate amount of our Repayment Manager’s time on a monthly basis. Excluding the analysis of accounts for charge off, the tasks associated with the current charge off process are clerical in nature and exhibit poor allocation of the Repayment Manager’s expertise. As an organization we hold operational efficiency in the highest regard, and the charge off process is an excellent candidate for an efficiency overhaul via automation.

The integrity of the financial system was put into question along with the future of America’s economy, including its once thriving housing market. Someone once asked me how I felt about prejudice. “In contrast to what?”, or should I say, “shocking in all its forms.” Initially my response was puzzling. Let me explain. If you were to ask me how I felt about prejudice in the United States I would have to say, “Here, I am very aware of my skin color.” It is no secret that the US has had a long historical battle with racism. I am able to be educated at the collegiate level, due wholly, or in part, to the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s. It is the reason I am allowed to vote in this country. Do you ever wonder why certain people have certain places that mean so much to them. When I think about my bedroom, I realize why those people are so touchy about what goes on in their rooms or who is touching things within the room, it’s because the things in that room are important to them and may have some meaningful memory behind it. A place like my room is a place where I know I can go to relax and be comfortable. It is also a place I know I can just be alone if I need to get away from certain things going on in the world. "The American Dream" is based on the 'Declaration of Independence´: 'We believe that all men are born with these inalienable rights life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.´ (Thomas Jefferson, 1776). This 'dream´ consists of a genuine and determined belief that in America, all things are possible to all men, regardless of birth or wealth; you work hard enough you will achieve anything. However, Miller says people have been 'ultimately misguided´. The origins of the American Dream seem to have been rooted in the pioneering mentality of the 18th and 19th century immigrants, most of whom came to America because of a promise of a new and better life. Role models have an astounding effect on the lives of young people in our society. A role model has the ability to shape the views, ideals, and actions of a young person. Role models help youth to discover how they wish to become in the future. The influence that role models have over young people is tremendous. It is important for role models to be positive and responsible in instilling good morals and values because future generations are directly dependent on the role models of today. By examining the influence of role models, role models in the community, and role models in the media, we will be able to determine the true effect that role models have on the lives of youth.
