Summary Charge Off is an unfortunate inevitability of lending. Our current process is dependent on manual file maintenance and reporting, and consumes an inordinate amount of our Repayment Manager’s time on a monthly basis. Excluding the analysis of accounts for charge off, the tasks associated with the current charge off process are clerical in nature and exhibit poor allocation of the Repayment Manager’s expertise. As an organization we hold operational efficiency in the highest regard, and the charge off process is an excellent candidate for an efficiency overhaul via automation. The Portrayal of Indian Marriages in the Stories The Old Woman and The Bhorwani Marriage Culture is comprised of those things which we tend to cherish, and those things, which are important to us, being therefore the accepted and patterned ways of behaviour of a given people. India is one of the richest countries in the importance it gives to its culture and heritage. Marriage forms an important of Indian culture and traditions and is considered as one of the major pillars of society. The financial crisis that is currently affecting the United States of America is the result of several factors, including the growing number of foreclosures, all of which converged into a “perfect storm” of a severe magnitude. The end result was not only the exacerbation of the already looming housing crisis, but the overall bleak outlook on America’s financial system. The integrity of the financial system was put into question along with the future of America’s economy, including its once thriving housing market. Someone once asked me how I felt about prejudice. “In contrast to what?”, or should I say, “shocking in all its forms.” Initially my response was puzzling. Let me explain. If you were to ask me how I felt about prejudice in the United States I would have to say, “Here, I am very aware of my skin color.” It is no secret that the US has had a long historical battle with racism. I am able to be educated at the collegiate level, due wholly, or in part, to the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s. It is the reason I am allowed to vote in this country. Do you ever wonder why certain people have certain places that mean so much to them. When I think about my bedroom, I realize why those people are so touchy about what goes on in their rooms or who is touching things within the room, it’s because the things in that room are important to them and may have some meaningful memory behind it. A place like my room is a place where I know I can go to relax and be comfortable. It is also a place I know I can just be alone if I need to get away from certain things going on in the world. "The American Dream" is based on the 'Declaration of Independence´: 'We believe that all men are born with these inalienable rights life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.´ (Thomas Jefferson, 1776). This 'dream´ consists of a genuine and determined belief that in America, all things are possible to all men, regardless of birth or wealth; you work hard enough you will achieve anything. However, Miller says people have been 'ultimately misguided´. The origins of the American Dream seem to have been rooted in the pioneering mentality of the 18th and 19th century immigrants, most of whom came to America because of a promise of a new and better life. Role models have an astounding effect on the lives of young people in our society. A role model has the ability to shape the views, ideals, and actions of a young person. Role models help youth to discover how they wish to become in the future. The influence that role models have over young people is tremendous. It is important for role models to be positive and responsible in instilling good morals and values because future generations are directly dependent on the role models of today. By examining the influence of role models, role models in the community, and role models in the media, we will be able to determine the true effect that role models have on the lives of youth. MiddleClassMorality and Comments on Class and Social Standing made by Shaw in Pygmalion George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion is the story of Henry Higgins, a master phonetician, and his mischievous plot to pass a common flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, off as a duchess at the Embassy Ball. In order achieve his goal, Higgins must teach Eliza how to speak properly and how to act in upperclass society. The play pokes fun at "middle class morality" and upperclass superficiality, reflects the social ills of nineteenth century England, and attests that all people, regardless of class background, are worthy of respect and dignity. Polymers are made of large molecules that consist of a many monomers fused together through chemical bonds to make a strong material. Certain polymers are made of different chemical compositions of different molecular weights, crystallization, different degrees of hydrophobic characteristics, and heating transformations. One Soldier Staring Death in the Face War is full of violence and death. This violence and death causes severe emotional trauma. There is an ongoing debate on how the current political and economic failures in Africa can be traced back to the advent of colonialism. There is a great deal of evidence that illustrates the impact that colonialism and foreign intervention has had a negative effect on the development of present history of Africa. As it pertains to literature, prose refers to arrangement and format. Literary works written in prose style mirror everyday speaking. Prose medium differentiates itself from poetry in the use of unmetered, unrhymed language consisting of logically related sentences (Gale). Although the meaning, message or point of the work may be obscure and hidden, the format is one easily read and understood by the audience. Ernest Hemmingway and William Faulkner are but two success stories utilizing this simple and yet complex literary layout. Your chance of surviving a fall of 50 feet (approximately 4 stories) is about 50%, while almost no one who falls 6 stories will be around to tell their tale. However, in a study conducted by Manhattan veterinarians, Drs. Wayne Whitney and Cheryl Mehlhaff, it was discovered that out of 115 cases of cats falling (accidentally) from multistory heights, 90% of them survived. An even more surprising result is that if a cat falls from more than 7 stories its chance of survival doubles, compared to a cat having fallen from 2 to 7 stories (a story averages about 12 feet). Effect of Temperature on the Rate of Movement of Gammarus setosus Abstract Gammarus setosus is a marine amphipod that is found in the intertidal waters of British Columbia. A study of temperature on the rate of movement of Gammarus setosus was undertaken to find whether temperature would positively or negatively affect the activity of Gammarus setosus. Specimens of Gammarus setosus was obtained and tested. 30 ppt salt water of 5°C, 23°C, and 30°C was used to perform the experiment. The specimens were allowed to acclimate for one minute. |

Andre Dubus' The Curse 'The Curse'; by Andre Dubus is about Mitchell Hayes, a fortynine year old bartender who is witness to a rape. The rape occurs right before closing when five bikers rape a young woman while holding Mitchell at bay. After the rape, Mitchell is distraught over his decision of not making a stronger attempt to help the girl. Police, family and friends try to comfort Mitchell by telling him he made the right decision. However, he continues to feel guilt and selfdoubt over whether or not he could have done more in order to prevent the rape from occurring. Election of 1900 The presidential election of 1900 was between candidates William McKinley, William Bryan, John Wooley, Eugene Debs. Although the race only really consisted of McKinley and Bryan it was still a close race by far. McKinley was born in Niles, Ohio, on January 29, 1843, the seventh child of William and Nancy Allison McKinley. Young McKinley grew up a serious boy, possessed of a quiet determination to succeed. He attended school in Poland, Ohio, and then went to Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Imperialism in Africa When the Age of Imperialism began in 1875, it effected Africa in many ways. Nowhere was the competition for colonies more intense than in Africa. Europeans went after North and South Africa splitting up the continent. Egypt and Sudan were taken over by Britain to obtain the Suez Canal. Imperialism helped to develop Africa’s economy and turned it into a continent of colonies. Until well into the 1800’s Africa was relatively unknown to Europeans. They controlled less than ten percent of the continent. Biography of William Shakespeare William Shakespeare (15641616) was a playwrite in England. The Merchant of Veniceis one of his many “comedies.” Some scholars however, have made the argument that the play is one of his tragedies. Other tragedies of Shakespeare include Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare lived in a time when Jews had been expelled from England for over three centuries. However, as a playwrite, Shakespeare also probably faced much prejudice and hatred—theater was banned from his home town of London during his lifetime and so the theaters had to move outside of the city walls. Painting with Spray Paints Painting with spray paint can be an exciting and challenging technique to add to any artist’s repertoire. Spray paint comes in a number of formats, allowing the artist to select tight control or a spontaneous, loose flow of paint. Today’s spray systems are modern advancements on an old technique. Mouth atomizers have been used for many years, and the tools are still available. Technology has taken this to include airbrush systems and canned spray paints. All these tools expand the artist’s ability to create a diverse array of styles and techniques that brushwork could never imitate. Gilligan’s Perception of Morality in An American Story Though individuals live by and react similarly to various situations, not all people have the same morals. I can relate to instances where I have supported a belief, regardless of the criticisms that arise, all because my choice is based upon personal morals. The same can be said regarding Debra J. Dickerson as she expresses in her novel, An American Story. In Carol Gilligan’s “Concepts of Self and Morality,” she states, “The moral person is one who helps others; goodness in service, meeting one’s obligations and responsibilities to others, if possible without sacrificing oneself” (170). Team Building and Dealing with Conflict Effective teamwork begins with the collaboration of a variety of people from different cultures. Each member has to be courteous to his or her teammates and respect the views of one another. All participants must be willing to share their ideas, but remain openminded, while listening to others express their ideas and opinions even though they may be different from our own. An openminded teammate can effectively criticize, critique, or expand through discussion of ideas or views that are presented. The Ecosystem of the Coral Reef Coral reefs are among the most diverse and productive communities on Earth. They are found in the warm, clear, shallow waters of tropical oceans worldwide. Reefs have functions ranging from providing food and shelter to fish and invertebrates, to protecting the shore from erosion.
